Architecture Luxury Trends of 2013

FINE-magazine-home-automation-architecture-luxury-trend-2013Trends in architecture may not so rapidly change or be so easily noticeable as they are within other trends like fashion, however, 2013 predictions have been made that nevertheless challenge the latest in architectural design.

Specifically, luxury residential design trends for 2013 include home automation, sustainability, and boutique-style closets. As smart home technology continues to grow smarter, homeowners are increasingly able to run all of their home’s technology – lighting structures, air conditioners, heaters, sound systems, etc. – from one control. Moreover, smart home technology has become the absolute in home luxury. In addition to this, green building practices are on the rise. Not only are people becoming more environmentally conscious, but they are lowering their long-term energy expenses as well. Thirdly, homeowners are asking for trendy walk-in-closests or boutique-style closets, which have become increasingly popular in luxury homes.

In addition to these developments, other architectural trends can be expected within contemporary fine homes which are a continued attraction to light and minimalism, a pursuit for quality, as well as the expression of form. Potentially one of the more exciting trends is the urge to design luxury outdoor living spaces, for instance, outdoor kitchens, which can include pizza ovens, beer taps and more. Relaxing, entertaining and working from home is progressively moving outdoors.

These types of contemporary, fine home living can be seen in the work done by Fleetwood Joiner and Avalon Architecture. Their luxury design creates homes that use unconventional shapes, as well as an ultra-mod style.
